Factoids: In January 1904, George P. Clayton leases the Shaffner building with the intent of opening a bowling alley, previously occupied by the Crossen meat market.
Mr. Clayton orders four alleys and hires Pearl Andrews to install three Brunswick Balke regulation alleys in February and has a grand opening on March 1, 1904.
By November 1904, Mr. Clayton went to Glenrock to start a bowling alley, intending to have two alleys in both Casper and Glenrock.
In December 1904, an advertisement declares G. E. Lilly proprietor of the Casper Bowling Alleys.
In early 1905, there is mention of the bowling alleys no longer being in Casper on Center Street.
There were two lanes here based on the license fees paid to the city from June 1906 to May 1907.
It isn't clear (yet) when Roy Williams started to run the bowling alley at this location.
Clyde Weeks and Holly Mowrer purchase the bowling alley from Roy Williams in late April 1907.
Clyde Weeks opened a new skating rink in the bowling alley building in early 1908.
It isn't clear why the Sanborn map of August 1912 still shows a bowling alley and pool room on Center street.
